Just for the record I did have a new post 2 days ago. However, something messed up on blogger and the pictures would not display so I deleted it.
I have spent many hours online trying to find "something cool." Maybe a website that can read your mind, or hypnotize you. Maybe an online picture of a pumpkin pie that actually smells like pumpkin pie. Though my searches never satisfied my desire for something cool, my sister showed me the neatest thing I have ever heard.
I am going to share this with you but in order to get the full affect you MUST wear headphones. It's called "holophonics." Basically it is a holograph made up of sound waves.
Enjoy.

Remedy
David Crowder's new cd "REMEDY" is the most played cd on my iPod right now. Crowder's musical genius and lyricism have captured me as a listener and I am continuing to discover new creative musical elements throughout each tap of the repeat button. I am highly recommending this cd to everyone, and you can count on hearing some of these songs on a Sunday morning. christianmusictoday.com says, "Remedy focuses on God's constant presence as the answer to our hurts while challenging listeners to be the balm needed in the lives of others."

Unquenchable Worshipper
I'm reading through a little book right now called "The Unquenchable Worshipper" written by Matt Redman. In it he discusses how we are to be so amazed by God and His wonder's that from our hearts burns a love and passion for Him that cannot be extinguished.
The prophet Habakkuk is an example of an this kind of unquenchable worshipper.

Though the fig-tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. (Habakkuk 3:17-18)Though the fire for the Lord in Habakkuk's heart was trying so hard to be extinguished by the events going on around Him, Habakkuk found rest in the Lord. The decision had been made in Habakkuk's heart to rejoice and praise God in all circumstances, even when his world seemed to be crumbling. He decided that he would choose to respond to God's worth no matter how bleak a season he found himself in.

Mmmmm....
Imagine with me...
... a place where noodles are as abundant as the sand in the sea.
... a place where beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, and fish are raw and plentiful.
... a place where you can create your own juices by mixing sesame oil, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, and 10 more savory liquids.
... imagine... if you want rice, you get rice. if you want eggs, you get eggs. if you want seconds, you get seconds.
... oh no! this is no figment of anyone's imagination. this place is real. this place is Ton's Mongolian Grill!

Are You a Fool?
Reading through the Bible we can see that there are two kinds of fools mentioned. The first is the fool described in Proverbs. This person lacks discernment, has no need or desire for discipline, and has an unteachable heart. In the eyes of God this fool is headed for trouble and the book of Proverbs strongly advises us not to be this person.
Just think about what we do on Sunday mornings. We sing songs to a God who we cannot see. We joyfully give away our hard earned money never to see it again. We read and listen to the words of an ancient book written thousands of years ago. And to top it all off, we claim that we are not in control of our own life and the most important thing in the world is our relationship with Jesus, a man who lived 2000 years ago that we have never physically met. Wow! These Christians sure look foolish!
As I think about it I realize that I want to be a big fool in the eyes of the world. I don't want to be a man who claims that the blood of Christ has changed my life but yet I'm still conformed to the world. I want people to see me as a fool because my decisions, choices, values, and actions are not governed by me but governed by the good news that my sins are forgiven and I belong to Jesus, my Father who knows what's good for me better than I do.
Lord, let me not seek the applause of men but live solely for Your ovation. Teach me to be a fool in the eyes of the world so that I might become wise in Your eyes.
And when the world says, "You are a fool for basing your entire life around the life, death, and resurrection of Christ," I respond with a simple "thank you!"
To end this post I will leave you with a quote from some great Theologians:
"What will people think when they hear that I'm a Jesus freak
What will people do when they find out it's true
I don't really care if they label me a Jesus freak
There ain't no disguising the truth"
However, there is another kind of fool. A fool that God delights in. A fool that I want to be.
Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. 1 Cor. 3:18
Here are the options: we can be wise by the wisdom of this age, or we can become a fool in the eyes of the world because we boast in the cross of Christ. Yes a Christian who displays genuine love, kindness, generosity, and self-control will be looked upon by the world as a wise person of good morals, but when our lives are truly built around the Gospel the world doesn't get it.

sweetly broken
Hear the words of Jeremy Riddle in his recent song, "Sweetly Broken".
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
To the cross I look, to the cross I cling
Of its suffering I do drink, of its worth I do sing
For on it my Savior, both bruised and crushed
Showed that God is love, and God is just
At the cross You beckon me
You draw me gently to my knees, and I am
Lost for words, so lost in love,
I'm sweetly broken, wholly surrendered
What a priceless gift, undeserved life
Have I been given, through Christ crucified
You've called me out of death, You've called me into life
I was under Your wrath, now through the cross I'm reconciled
At the cross You beckon me
You draw me gently to my knees, and I am
Lost for words, so lost in love,
I'm sweetly broken, wholly surrendered
In awe of Your cross I must confess
How wondrous Your redeeming love
How great is Your faithfulness
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
play it!
